A while back I showed in a video a haul from elf. I bought these eyeshadows because I read good reviews on them. Besides that, I had been thinking of buying a Paint Pot from MAC of a Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow from Benfit for a while, but I just couldn't get myself to spend a lot of money on those.
L to R: Dawn, Eggplant
Only ordered two in Dawn (shimmering champagne/taupe) and Eggplant. I'm very pleased with the quality of these eyeshadows. I have very oily lids and nothing lasts on me if I don't use a primer. I have worn both of them without primer and they have lasted me 8 hours which is amazing considering that they only cost $3.
Swatches: Eggplant, Dawn
As you can see they are very pigmented. I recommend applying them with your fingers, they give a better application than using a brush because the warmth of your skin melts the product a little bit a makes it easier to blend. One thing I do not like about the eyeshadow it's their packaging. It's too bulky! I would have prefer a more simple pot.
I while back a saw a pretty display of Sinful Colors at Walgreens and this one color caught my attention. I don't have a lot of green polishes, and this one caught my attention. The color is Innocent. Since I bought it when it was very late and dark the color was off, so the next day when i was going to use it the color looked different, but still used it anyways. It is a yellowish green, it is not something very common, but it remided me of OPI Who the Shrek Are You?, which I don't have, so I asked my good friend google, and turns out they are dupes! The Following Blog has pictures side by side so you can compare them! http://rastalovenails.blogspot.com/2011/02/comparison-between-sinfulcolors.html
So if you were thinking of buying the OPI you can save big time by buying the Sinful Colors One!
My friends, I have found a new holy grail item. It's the new mascara from Clinique. I have never had any luck with Clinique products, they always made me break out, but this is awesome.
I love the cute packaging. It is specially designed for your bottom lashes. I bet a lot of us tried to apply mascara on our bottom lashes with any regular mascara. The problem with that is that the brushes tend to be bigger and (at least my) lower lashes are smaller... the results... a lot of mascara ends up on your skin. Another of the problems is that regular mascara smudges and it makes it look like you didn't use any concealer, and you end up with panda eyes. The Clinique bottom lash mascara it $10 dlls for .07 fl oz, it is available in two colors. Black and Brown. Although it is not waterproof, it doesn't smudge! It features a tiny brush that is actually great, it allow you to even get those baby lashes in the inner and outer corner of your eyes. You can even use it on your upper lashes for those lashes you big brushes never seems to reach.
Here I have the Rimmel sexy curves wand so you can compare the difference.
I while back I purchased this from Sephora, It's only $10 and I couldn't resist. There were a total of 5 little palettes, and this one was the one that Stood out to me the most. I felt that the color combination on this palette is the best out of the others, like they go perfect together. It consists of 4 eyeshadows (a gold, pink, matte blue and a sparkly black) and a convertible lip and cheek color. This was my first Stilla purchase and so far I'm happy with it.
From top to Bottom and Left to Right. Sake, Kawai, Shibuya, Peace Sign, Sakura(peace sign, shibuya, kawai, sake)
I love how kawai and sake are so wearable, and appropriate for work and school and you can pump the look using peace sign or shibuya as eyeliner. However, I have to say that peace sign and shibuya aren't as pigmented, and shibuya is very hard to blend, something that is common with matte shadows, the others have no problem with blend-ability.Sakura convertible lip and cheek color
As for the convertible color, I love the color, it's a cool toned bright pink, but on the cheeks it gives a nice flush, I like to wear only on the apples of my cheeks and top it off with a matter powder blush and it gives me perfect doll-like cheeks. I don't like it on my lips because it is not as moisturizing as other lipglosses.
For the people who might not know what the Monster Ball is... basically is a Lady Gaga show.
I went to one last week and it was F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C (yup in capitals). If somehow I would have been able to travel 3 years ago, and tell myself that I was going to go to one of her shows I would have laugh so hard because I hated her back then. The thing is that I hated her Poker Face song, I thought it sounded too robotic, too autoned, and she was just too eccentric for my taste. As she went on becoming more famous, I stated to like her, I admiring her for using her fame as means to spreading important messages such as charity, following your dreams regardless of what people tell you, bullying, and trying to revoke "don't ask don't tell" (which i think is the most ridiculous thing ever), and spreading love throughout the world. To me, this was my first Monster Ball, despite she had already been in town 3 times. First time she was here it was when I disliked her, then the 2nd time I wanted to go for my birthday, but tickets completely sold out. So this time was THE chance. Her show is beyond amazing worth every penny! They are very hard to get because I bought my tickets on October for a show on March and the GA section sold out in a matter of 2 days.
She sang live the entire time, and changed outfits with almost every song. They changed the stage four times. Here are the songs she sang in the same order.
Dance in the Dark, Glittler and Grease, Just Dance, Beautiful Dirty Rich, The Fame, Love Game, Boys Boys Boys, Money Honey, Telephone, Born this Way (acoustic), You and I, So Happy I could Die, Monster, Teeth, Alejandro, Poker Face, Paparazzi, Bad Romance, and Born this Way.
I love the opening of the show... it gives me a strange feeling... like adrenaline running throwout my body (literally). I did recorded this one
Here are some photos of the show... my new camera takes so much better pictures than the old one. ( as you can see i was very close!) enjoy! Xo Monica
When I first saw this polish the first thought I had was that it looked like Pepto Bismol. But on the nails it is just a soft pink. Cream finish, last a good time with a top coat and so pretty. It is one of those pinks that looks good on every occasion. I would buy this again.
BTW this color need a two coats because it is sheet, probably 3 would be your best bet.
Ok, my last experience with Hautelook wasn't the best, but I decided to order some jewelry and this time the shipping was super fast! I got my items within 2 weeks. I got them last wednesday but hadn't had the time to post since I'm studying for my midterms.
Anyways I order 2 pairs of Juicy Couture earrings, both studs because I don't really like other types of earrings.
It came in this little bag Here are the earrings. Flower Studs and Owl Studs! These are my favorite they retail for $42 and I got them for $15!
These are super tiny but super cute Retail for $48 got them for $17!
I'm super happy about my new JC jewelery, I only have other 2 pieces of their jewelery because JC is VERY overpriced and can't really afford to buy new pieces every now and then.
In case you missed the chance to get the OPI Black Shatter from the Katy Perry Collection which is completely sold out and the only way to get a hold to it is if you buy it from ebay. OPI polishes retail from $8-9 US dlls, people on ebay are selling them for $15, a total scam. Luckily China Glaze has released a new collection called Cracle Glaze which consists of 6 polishes in this crackle/shatter form.
I only have 5 of them, they were already sold out of Black Mesh.
The 6 Colors are -Black Mesh (a cream black) -Cracked Concrete (a cream grey) -Lightening Bolt (white) -Crushed Candy (Tiffany Blue) -Broken Hearted (hot pink) -Fault Line (frosty purple)
Here is a swatch of all the colors I have.
I have to mention that they all dry to a matte finish, but that is no problem, just apply a clear nail polish or a shiny top coat. As for the formula they are all kind of gooey, except for cracked concrete which was the easiest to apply. Everytime I wear these I these I get tons of complements from people. They look so much cooler when you wear them with contrasting colors.
Overall I think they are worth checking out, but they are not a holly grail item.
PS In case you were wondering how different is crushed candy from For Audrey I have a photo with them side by side and they are identical. Xo Monica
I'm late jumping in to the Falsies bandwagon. I'm the type of person that if I find something I will keep buying it for ages, especially with mascaras. I've been trying a few mascaras, and about a month ago I stared using the falsies from Maybelline. The non-waterproof one. I think the brush is very interesting, it has a spoon shape. The brush is pretty big. So here are my lashes before and after. I do like how it volumizes and separates my lashes, but I doesn't provide the length I like, it doesn't really curl my lashes, only a little bit, but after I while my lashes lose their curl. It is easy to take off, and does last a good time.
I would only recommend to those who like volumizing mascaras.
Hi guys! I know I've been MIA lately, but if you watch the vlog on my youtube channel you'd know that I have a reason.
Anyways... I think that my addiction for nail polish kicked in ... yet again. That means a lot of swatches will be coming up!.
Here I have Urban Decay's Psychedelic Sister from their summer of love set.
I have to say that I love the gorgeous hot pink with orange/red undertones with a cream finish. Cream finishes have always been my favorite. I think Urban Decay put out really awesome colors, but they didn't nailed it with the formula. It is really bad, like $1 nail polish, it chipped on me in just 2 days even wearing Seche Vite.
